Design Windows Central Otago Ltd owner John Hancock receives a national design flair award from Window Association of New Zealand president Darren O’Riley in Rotorua on June 19.
A Cromwell aluminium fabrication company has scooped four national awards for its work on commercial and residential projects in Central Otago and the Queenstown Lakes area.

Design Windows Central Otago Ltd received the awards at the Window Association of New Zealand annual conference and industry day in Rotorua last week.

Owner John Hancock, of Alexandra, said he was ‘‘pretty stoked'' with his company's success.
‘‘It's great to receive the awards and have the business recognised at a national level.

‘‘We've been operating for just under two years and employ over 20 staff.

It's a credit to those staff as well who are meeting the demands of the market and the high expectations of our customers.''

Design Windows won a national award for commercial projects under $100,000 for its showroom at Wolter Cres which was designed to showcase the full range of aluminium product it can supply.

‘‘The showroom's joinery is a statement of quality and full of the best options and product our industry has to offer the market.

‘‘Clients are amazed with the showroom,'' Mr Hancock said.

Design Windows also received an award for being a national finalist in the commercial projects over $100,000 category with the architecturally designed Queenstown swimming pool, Alpine Aqualand.

The company supplied all the windows and doors for the pool complex.
