Community set to benefit from shearing competition

A provisional total of between $10,000 and $11,000 was raised for a range of East Otago community groups at the Golden Fleece Speed Shears competition last Thursday according to organiser Joy Clearwater.

Selected community groups will receive funding from the Speed Shears, including Waihemo Heritage Trust, Waikouaiti School ''Friends of the School'', East Otago Health Trust (Palmerston Health Centre upgrade), Ashley Knox (Outward Bound trip), Waikouaiti District Museum Society, Puketapu Scout Group and East Otago High School (sports uniforms).
