The building, originally built to house a veterinary clinic, was trucked to Oamaru from Dunsandel after the organisation was unable to secure a similar building from Omarama.
Ms van Grunsven said the facility, which had been open for about two weeks and currently cares for 11 cats, had the ability to cater for 25 cats, as well other small animals.
