Ready to tee off on the 10th hole at the North Otago Golf Club's 125th jubilee are Tim Hutchinson, Marty Davey, Graeme McIntyre, and Harry Jones, all of Oamaru.

Rain stopped just in time for Saturday's 11am tee-off and club president Graham Hiscoke said 70 golfers came out to celebrate the third-oldest golf club in New Zealand.

About 100 were at the clubhouse on Friday night and 120 were booked for dinner at the Oamaru Club on Saturday night.

The 280-member club started at what is now known as Hospital Hill in Oamaru. The club celebrated 90 years at its location south of town.

Visitors, Mr Hiscoke said, ``can't believe the views'', which were especially good of the Kakanui Range on the 4th hole, and the sea on the 5th and 14th holes.
