Steampunk HQ is taking to the streets of Oamaru.
They have transformed a fleet of quadracycles into ''Pedal Punks'' for people to explore and experience Oamaru's Victorian Precinct and harbour area.
Steampunk HQ co-ordinator Jan Kennedy said the four-wheel Steampunk-themed cycles were bought from a business in Wellington, where they had been hired out to be used around the waterfront.
They were painted in Steampunk HQ's signature colour - black - and a Pedal Punk logo was designed by Oamaru artist Matthew Wicks.
''We wanted to punk them up as much as possible, to fit with what we're doing with HQ,'' Mrs Kennedy said.
Mrs Kennedy said seeing Pedal Punks cruising around the Victorian Precinct and harbour area would add ''vibrancy and colour'' and promote the town as a holiday destination.
''The more activities you can do, the more appealing it is as a tourist destination,'' she said.
She said Oamaru was the perfect setting for quadracycles with a lot to explore in an hour.
There is a set route for anyone hiring the Pedal Punks, around the Victorian Precinct and harbour, to keep them off busy roads as much as possible.
The had already been a lot of interest in Pedal Punks from tourists and locals, Mrs Kennedy said.
Their fleet includes two-seater and four-seater Pedal Punk models, as well as four black cruiser bikes.
