This man, with a distinctive tattoo on his right shoulder, and wearing a blue striped singlet and trousers, is being sought by police after the theft of two tills from a safe at the Four Square Supermarket in Tiverton St, Palmerston, yesterday evening.
A police spokeswoman said police were alerted at 6.45pm, the caller saying a man had entered the back of the store and taken two tills from a safe.
Police said security camera images showed the alleged offender and police would like to hear from "anyone who can help us identify him".
Police converged on the shop after the robbery, and undertook inquiries in the premises and elsewhere, but the man might have left the area in a vehicle.
