He was one of the competitors taking part in the Waimate Rodeo Club’s 61st annual event on Saturday. Spectators watched bull, steer and horse riding.
Club junior vice-president Hamish Wall said no competitors or animals were injured in what was a great event.
"Everything along those lines was great."
He said rodeo was way of life for a lot of people in the area and the event gave people a stage on which to show their skills.
"We run a good rodeo, which is what we need to keep doing."
