Police are appealing for information after the driver of a stolen vehicle fled the scene of a crash in Oamaru early this morning.
The crash, at the intersection of Thames and Severn streets in Oamaru, was reported to police at 4am.
Acting Sergeant Blair Corlet said about 8 metres of skid marks led to where the Toyota Curren had gone over a kerb and come to rest in a garden at the intersection.
There was minor damage to the vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Timaru.
