Baroque chamber music came to Queenstown when harpsichord player Edita Keglerova and cellist Tomas Hurnik played at St Peter's Church last night.

The pair, from the Czech Republic, were in Queenstown as part of their three-week nationwide tour.

Hurnik is an associate principal of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

He has been living in New Zealand for the past few years, but it is Keglerova's first visit to New Zealand.

Keglerova is a renowned harpsichord player, and she studied music with Hurnik at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

"New Zealand is so beautiful. I'm delighted to be here to play with my dear friend Tomas," she said.

The hour-long concert was held at St Peter's Church from 7pm to 8pm.
