Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police were called to Allied Press — home of the Otago Daily Times — in Stuart St at 3am yesterday after a pair were heard playing on the roof of the building.
A night shift worker heard the two 19-year-old students pattering around on the top of the building and asked police to find and trespass the pair.
They were located running across Anzac Ave attempting to evade police and were caught without any issue.
When asked, they told police they entered the building through an unlocked door, went up the stairs and entered the archive room.
After looking around, the pair toured through the building a bit more and accessed the roof from one of the offices.
From the roof, they were able to enter the building again through another entrance.
The pair were trespassed from the Allied Press premises, Snr Sgt Bond said.
