The Rt Rev Dr David Coles, of the Wakatipu parish, said it would be about the fifth year the one-day market had been held - before that the annual event was the Wakatipu Rose Show.
"I guess the parish ran afternoon teas and made some money, then they decided to do this."
The parish includes St Peter's Queenstown, St Paul's Arrowtown and parishioners from Glenorchy, who all contributed to the goods on sale tomorrow.
Items donated include a bicycle, a karaoke machine, a set of golf clubs, a portable DVD player, crockery, cutlery and glasses.
"We use the term 'elegant junk' [for the items on sale]; we try and sell quality things. A lot of it would be good for young people who have just come for short-term stays, " Dr Coles said.
The market, being held from 9am until noon tomorrow, would be set up in the grounds of St Peter's on Church St and include tickets for a raffle being drawn on December 15.
