A life on the railway

Railway preservationist, locomotive engineer and long-time St John supporter Russell Glendinning, of Kingston, has died after an illness. 

The 79-year-old passed away at Lakes District Hospital yesterday.

Mr Glendinning worked on the Kingston Flyer tourist steam train for over 40 years under its various owners, and his railway career spanned 60 years.
