A South Otago rugby player was flown by Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter to Dunedin Hospital on Saturday after he was injured during a senior reserve game against Dunedin in Kaitangata.
Crescent Rugby Club captain Mark Frisby said the young winger was knocked out after making a tackle near the end of the game.
He was treated on the field and made his own way off but when he felt tingles in his arm shortly afterwards the decision was made to call an ambulance.
He was discharged from hospital and back home yesterday having suffered a slight compression injury, Mr Frisby said.
