South Otago men looking for an excuse not to shave for a month are being invited to join the fast growing Movember cause.
The Clutha Valley Primary School's "Friends of the School" group is organising its own event to raise money for the Cancer Society and Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.
"Movember" has grown in popularity in recent years with hundreds of New Zealand men ditching their razors for the month of November to grow facial hair for charity.
Clutha Valley group spokeswoman Suzie Roy said entrants are being asked to meet at the Greenfield Tavern on Monday, November 2 at 7.30pm.
They are asked to bring their $10 entry fee and to arrive clean-shaven.
