The lifelong Kaitangata couple were nominated for their volunteering around the town over many years, including recent work maintaining and beautifying the Gary Williams Walkway adjoining the Clutha River.
Mrs Robertson said she and her husband were only two of many who worked hard to make Kaitangata a special place to live and visit.
"We and our neighbours all do our little bit to keep it tidy and planted with dahlias. It really comes into its own in summer, and sometimes we give visitors bunches of flowers to take away."
They said they now planned to have a roast lamb lunch with other volunteers, and thanked Silver Fern Farms for the award.
"We’re very grateful, and certainly didn’t expect this. You just do it because you love where you live."
