Otago Regional Council is inviting residents to share their views on the future of Otago’s coast this month.
The council will seek public feedback on managing the region’s coastal environment both online and through drop-in sessions.
Feedback will be sought on a range of topics, including natural hazards and climate change, biodiversity, water quality, recreational opportunities, public access and aquaculture, a spokesman said.
Sharing feedback would help shape future council policy and activities.
"What is happening in the coastal areas you care about?
"Is there too much of one activity happening?
"What issues or opportunities are there?
"Is there a future for aquaculture?
"Our wildlife is a huge attraction — what should it look like in the future?"
South Otago residents could attend a drop-in session at TPŌMA, Balclutha, 3pm-6pm, July 21; or online, at Otago Regional Council.govt.nz/coastonline, August 3, 7pm-8.30pm.
Consultation will run from July 13 until August 10.
