Southland brews, wine from Central Otago and unique cuisine will be on the menu tomorrow.

The Southland Beer, Wine and Wild Food Festival will be at the ILT Stadium Southland, from noon until 7pm, and is restricted to those over 18.

Event manager Kevin Downie said they were excited to hold the event after it was cancelled in March.

"It’s been a long time since we have done one.

"So it’s about time we got another Invercargill party going on."

It was a great event to showcase food and beverages that were unique to the region, including four of Invercargill’s local breweries, Mr Downie said.

"We are at a stage where a lot of beer is being produced in Southland; there are four breweries in Invercargill alone, and they will be showcased at the event."

The day would feature live entertainment, including six bands and Southland entertainer of the year Sam Cullen, as well as a few more surprises.

"Last year we had a flash mob of South American dancers and we’ve got a few more ideas to do with the art side to things," Mr Downie said.

Some of the proceeds raised on the day would go towards GreenLight Innovations, which was the Invercargill charity the festival had chosen to support this year.
