Emergency services were called out in the early hours of this morning to a suspicious car fire near Gore.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said they received the call at about 1.40am to a car fire on a dirt road leading to the river from Woolwich St.
She said they had no problems extinguishing it but, as it was suspicious, police were notified.
Nobody was with the vehicle.
