Two people have been confirmed dead after a rental car collided with a bus on the Milford Road on Tuesday.
Police today confirmed that there were two occupants in the car.
Emergency services were called to the scene, 2km north of Te Anau Downs, before 3pm on Tuesday.
The bus and the car were on fire when emergency services arrived. Both vehicles were destroyed.
Police were working to identify the victims, but previously said that may take some time, owing to the the damage to the car.
