Hundreds celebrate Matariki on Wanaka lakefront

Hundreds turned out to celebrate Matariki on the lakefront in Wanaka on Saturday, despite the low cloud and freezing temperatures.

Hosted by Kahu Youth Trust, the ninth annual family-friendly free festival featured fireworks, bonfires on the beach as well as a performance by the "Matariki Bubblerers".
