Cricket: OBHS just short of upset

Otago Boys' High School produced a valiant chase but came up 11 runs short of upsetting top-of-the-table King's College on day four of the Gillette Cup in Lincoln yesterday.

Chasing a formidable 295 for victory, Liam Cotton (80) and Josh Finnie (66 not out) pushed hard to get their side through to a commendable 284 for seven.

Earlier, Finnie had taken three for 53 as King's compiled an impressive 294 for six with Cameron Gibbons scoring 104.

On Saturday, OBHS lost to Christchurch Boys' High School by 75 runs.

On Saturday, St Hilda's beat St Kentigern College by six wickets in the morning but lost by 13 runs to Havelock North High School in the afternoon match. St Hilda's plays New Plymouth Girls' High School and Wellington Girls' College today.
