Fine bowling to fore in Cromwell match

Blacks Hill travelled to Cromwell and, batting first, was dismissed for 144, with Alex Gibson top-scoring with 48. Barry White, 28, and Luke Duncan, with 21 from No 9, helped to lift the total.

Amrit Gossal took an incredible six wickets for 16 runs off seven overs, while Alec Gunson took the other four wickets for the cost of 55 runs.

Cromwell was always on the back foot chasing the low total, and could only muster 126, with Ross Anderson top-scoring with 24. Angus Dykes did most of the damage, taking five wickets for 19 runs off seven excellent overs.

Albion batted first against Maniototo at Naseby and got through to 226 for the loss of four wickets on the back of a very fine 121 not out from Tim Cotter. Ross McGregor chipped in with 22.

Anton Hood was the pick of the Maniototo bowlers with three for 31. Maniototo chased down the total for the loss of six wickets. Angus Gibb (73) and Dion Gibbons (47) scored the bulk of the runs. For Albion, Ryan Wheeler (two for 37) and Mat  Anderson (two for 56) did their best to halt the run chase.

The clash between  Queenstown Wakatipu and Queenstown Ballarat was abandoned after play was washed out.
