Alpiners men seeking payback

The Alpiners men will get a chance to right wrongs in the Premier Hockey League final.

The southern side had already booked their spot in the final but suffered a setback yesterday, losing the final round-robin game 2-0 to the Mavericks in Christchurch.

It was the Alpiners’ first loss of the season — during the double-header round — but they will have the chance to avenge that when they meet the Mavericks in the final.

The Tridents will play the Falcons in the men’s bronze-medal clash.

In the women’s finals, the Falcons will meet the Tridents in the gold-medal game, while the Alpiners women still have a chance to snatch a medal when they meet the Mavericks in the bronze-medal playoff.
