The Southern Dogs have progressed to the National Hockey League men's final tomorrow courtesy of a 2-0 win over Midlands in the semi final in Whangarei today.
A second quarter penalty stroke to Hugo Inglis gave the Dogs a 1-0 lead before Kane Russell put the result beyond doubt from a penalty corner with six minutes to go.
The Dogs will meet Capital Cobras in the final, after the Wellingtonians beat Auckland 3-2 in the other semi final.
The Cobras edged out the Dogs in round robin play through a shootout last Saturday after the teams were tied 1-1 at full time.
The final will be screened live on Sky Sport 3 at 3pm tomorrow.
The Southern Storm women will play Capital for 7th and 8th after losing 5-1 to Central today.
