New Zealand looks set for promotion to the third tier of the women's world championship.
The Ice Ferns won their first three games at the world fourth division championships in Iceland this week and could seal promotion with victory over winless Romania today.
New Zealand opened with a 3-1 win over host Iceland, came from 1-0 down to beat Korea 3-1, and thumped South Africa 7-2.
Sheree Haslemore, of Gore, scored twice in the win over the South Africans, and Ali Macharg, of Queenstown, scored a goal in the same game.
Other members of the squad include Dunedin goalkeeper Olivia MacDonald, Dunedin defencemen Anna Goulding and Zanzee Pielak-Jones, Gore forward Kiri Langford and Dunedin forward Steph Patchett.
Patchett (16), from St Hilda's Collegiate school, is one of the babies of the team, while Macharg is 17 and Goulding is 18.
Leading the way for the Ice Ferns have been Auckland forwards Emma Gray, who has scored a goal in each game, and Ashley Cunningham, who scored twice against South Africa and once against Iceland.
