League: Elliott, Kidwell combo tip for Warriors

Signs point to a combination of veteran coach Matt Elliott and rookie David Kidwell at the Warriors next season.

Elliott - the former Bradford, Canberra and Penrith coach - appears a natural fit for the general manager position. At the beginning of the recruitment process the club stipulated it would pursue a figure with considerable NRL experience.

Elliott, sacked by Penrith to make way for Ivan Cleary, is believed to have impressed during the extensive interview process the club has performed in Sydney over recent weeks.

An assistant to Craig Bellamy at the Storm, Kidwell has the advantage of having been immersed in the highly regarded Storm system as both a coach and player.
