Tate, who joined the club from the Brisbane Broncos in 2008, has signed for the North Queernsland Cowboys for the next three years
Tate, 28, said it had been the toughest decision of his career.
"While the Warriors came up with a big offer for me to stay, in the end it wasn't about the offers.
"It was about a family choice to return to Australia and it was also about me considering my options post-football."
