Wendy Frew's final big dance could not have gone any better - now all that is left is the after-party.

Southern Steel fans will get the chance to see their captain on court for the final time at the Super Club tournament in Nelson.

Consisting of the top three New Zealand team - the Steel, Central Pulse and Mainland Tactix - as well as five overseas teams, the Steel will play five games in six days beginning on Sunday.

The 33-year-old wing defence was instrumental in the side claiming-a-come-from-behind 54-53 win over the Pulse in Sunday's ANZ Premiership title. It was the final premiership game in a 16-year career, the entirety of which she has played for the Steel and its predecessor, the Southern Sting.

At last year's tournament, she ruptured her achilles in the final and spent the summer working her way back to be fit for this season.

That did not stop the Steel from going on to win that final in emphatic fashion, beating the Northern Mystics 79-58.
