College A too strong for Physed B

College A dominated Physed B to charge to a 90-26 win in the fifth round of the Dunedin premier club competition on Saturday.

College led 20-5 at the first break and continued their strong performance, the halftime score being 43-10.

Brenna Lyons (GS) dominated the shooting circle, landing 38 of her 42 attempts at goal to run at 90%.

Ella Mackenzie was also on point with her shooting, landing 81% of her shots.

The College combination of Perri Hore (GD) and Greer O’Rourke (GK) were on form with their circle defence.

College extended their advantage to 70-19 at the three-quarter break.

Physed B were trying hard to close the gap.

Their defenders, Mayce Williams (GD) and Amelia Mckeown (GK), were doing everything they could to prevent Mackenzie and Lyons from scoring.

Goal shoot Lucy McLellan also made some nice shots for Physed, but College were too strong over the court.

University-Albion B had a close game with Southern Magpies.

University-Albion B led 14-10 after the first quarter but the rest of the game was goal for goal before they held on to win 49-45.

Physed A built on a dominant second quarter to close out a 57-50 win over University-Albion A.

Promotion-relegation games are being played today.

Physed B play South Pac Titans Tāiko to see if they will stay in the premier 1 grade.
