The last time the two went head-to-head in an ANZ Championship game, Grace and her Mystics side emerged with the bragging rights.
That was three years ago when Rachel was filling in for the Pulse. She has signed with the Steel this season and it is her role to stop Grace, a slick wing attack, getting the ball to Cathrine Latu - who just never misses. Well, not very often.
Latu landed 45 goals from 45 attempts in the extra time win against the Pulse last week. Amazingly, it was the 13th time she has shot a perfect game in an ANZ Championship match.
Once she gets the ball it is almost always too late for the defence to avoid conceding another goal, so Rachel is determined to pick off as many of her sister's inbound passes as she can manage.
The problem is, Grace has been in rather good form, amassing 72 assists, just four fewer than Steel goal attack and captain Jodi Brown, who leads the competition.
''Yeah, definitely,'' Rachel responded when asked if she was keen to balance the ledger.
''She is one up on me and I'm older, so I need to win it for sure.''
The Rasmussens are a sizable clan. Rachel is one of eight siblings and the match will be a bit of a family reunion with Rachel's mother and father, brother and two sisters all making the trip south. They will be the ones watching stoney-face trying to remain neutral.
''Mum said she is just going to sit and cheer for both of us. Everyone else is accepting bribes,'' she joked.
''It is going to be hard playing Grace, but both if us have been playing at this level for a while now.
''She is going to be wanting a strong game to get that ball to her shooters and it is my job to make sure she doesn't do that.
''She definitely has a lot of strength and speed ... and she is a very crafty, clever and cunning player.''
In terms of the tournament, both teams will be desperate for the win as well. The Mystics broke through with their first win last week. But with one win from five games, the Auckland-based team has to keep winning to keep its playoff prospects alive.
The Steel had a bye last week and has one win from four games. The combined Otago-Southland team has been competitive but has also suffered through some quiet patches during key periods of its games.
That proved its undoing in the 59-56 loss to the Pulse. Putting that right has been a focus for the Steel this week.
While the Mystics have Latu, the Steel has impressive Jamaican shooter Jhaniele Fowler. The 1.98m goal shoot has scored 197 goals in just four games. The Mystics have really struggled to restrict teams scoring, conceding 360 goals at an average of 72. It is a damning statistic and one which will worry coach Ruth Aitken.
The loss of defenders Anna Harrison and Charlotte Kight certainly has not helped, but if the former Silver Ferns coach cannot find a way to plug up the defence her team will continue to lose a lot of netball matches no matter how accurate Latu is.
