Two southerners have been crowned national champions at the 2023 New Zealand Giant Slalom Championships at Coronet Peak.
Queenstown skier Alice Robinson, 21, won the women’s event, and Twizel skier Willis Feasey, 30, added the men’s giant slalom title to his list of achievements after winning the slalom national title last week.
Robinson said it was still very early in the season for her, but it was great to be back in the bib.
It was her third NZ giant slalom title.

Feasey said he was "pretty happy" with the win after having a "scrappy" second run.
"Luckily, I had done enough in the first run to take the top spot."
Ruby Fullerton, 17, of Nelson, was second and Zoe Parr, 16, of New Plymouth, third in the women’s event.
In the men’s event, Will Cashmore, 22, of Auckland, was second and Sam Hadley, 19, of Queenstown, third.
