Lisa Allpress is at $1.25 with the New Zealand TAB to win the national jockeys' premiership for 2011-12 which is concluded at the Oamaru Jockey Club meeting today.

Allpress has a two-win lead over Matthew Cameron after a win at Otaki on Saturday. She has 158 wins for the season.

Cameron is at $3.80.

Both jockeys have rides in the six races today.

Needastar, whom Cameron rode to win the Oamaru Cup eight days ago, is among his mounts today. He also rides Global Partner (race 5) and My Latte (race 8).

He has ridden both horses to win at Oamaru this month.

Global Partner is trained by Jon Sargent, who has won 107 races this season, one short of the record.

Sargent has Captain Cruising, a rival for Global Partner today.

Captain Cruising , the mount of Allpress, is being tried in blinkers.

Trudy Thornton and Julian Castano were suspended for careless riding at Te Rapa on Saturday.

Thornton was suspended from Thursday until August 9 inclusive.

She was found to have permitted her mount, Zahtui, to shift in and crowd Shooting Daggers, Malbec and Waitoki Ahi at the 1800m in race 6.

Castano admitted allowing his mount, Sweet 'N' Keen, to shift in at the 150m and clip the heel of Tangoette in race 3. Castano was dislodged.

He was passed fit to continue riding.
