Talented mare De Lovely will be flown to Christchurch next Tuesday to contest the $40,000 Premier Mares' Championship at Addington three days later.

Trainer Ian Small said from Maramarua last night that De Lovely had done well since her two scintillating wins at Alexandra Park last month.

Her last success was in the group one $80,000 Queen Of Hearts on December 17.

Small said De Lovely, who has won her last nine starts, would have a trial at Alexandra Park today.

Small said De Lovely was to have raced in a $20,000 race for fillies and mares at Cambridge on Friday night but the race did not eventuate due to lack of entries.

De Lovely, who has recorded 13 wins and five placings from 21 starts for $584,409 in stakes, will return home after the Addington race.

Tintin In America has been turned out and will not be on hand for the Interdominion championships at Addington in March and April.

• Woodville trainer Francis Finnegan is hoping to engage the services of Lisa Cropp to ride Eileen Dubh in the $1 million Telegraph Handicap at Trentham on Saturday week, The New Zealand Herald reports.

Cropp would require a medical clearance and a licence application approval to take the mount.

Cropp suffered a hairline fracture behind her left ear in a fall from a pony at her Cambridge property on December 7.

Chief stipendiary steward Cameron George had not received a licence application yesterday from Cropp to ride on the first day of the summer carnival.

He said it was likely to be a fast-turnaround formality once the paperwork arrived.
