Jinky Johnson leaves the Westwood stable of Graeme Anderson and Amber Hoffman today to join Colin Brown, a prominent driver and trainer in Western Australia.
The 4yr-old was raced by Wendy Muldrew and won at Gore and Winton last December.
He resumed racing at Ascot Park last Friday.
Muldrew bought the gelded son of Enrique and Our Sunshine Girl after he qualified for North Taieri trainer Martin Denton and Mosgiel breeders George and Lois Molloy in a solo effort at Forbury Park as a 2yr-old in May last year.
Jinky Johnson is the first foal of Our Sunshine Girl (Live Or Die-Skippity Doo Dah), who did not race. She qualified at Ashburton for the late Peter Cowan after recovering from a shattered hind leg.
"She had four or five pins put in the leg," George Molloy recalled. Our Sunshine Girl bowed a tendon after she qualified and it was decided to put her to stud.
"We liked Enrique because he was a smallish type and she was a big mare."
Enrique, has also sired Ronnoco (two wins).
Enrique (Presidential Ball-Hint) won five minor races in the North Island when trained by Geoff Small.
Our Sunshine Girl is now in foal to Washington VC.
Brown trains Old McDonald, winner of 12 of his 30 starts and seven from his last eight. The Bella's Boy-Gena's Folly gelding was educated by Anderson and Hoffman but did not race in New Zealand.
Arden Rooney is in line to give trainer Mark Purdon his fourth win in a Forbury Park Sires' Stakes heat for 3yr-olds tonight.
Arden Rooney, who ran third to stablemate Beau Vite and Mac The Finn in the heat at Addington last Friday night, has drawn three. He will be driven by stable foreman Grant Payne.
Purdon has won heats at Forbury Park with Likmesiah (2003), Auckland Reactor (2007) and Eric's Legend (2008).
Payne was the co-trainer of Auckland Reactor and Eric's Legend.
The stable has Fly Like An Eagle, Sushi Sushi and Major Mark in the $35,000 group three Methven Cup on Sunday.
Purdon trained Vi Et Animo to win the race last year and Ohoka Dallas, the 2010 winner, whom he drove. He has been declared to drive Fly Like An Eagle, who has not raced since winning the Australasian Breeders' Crown at Melton in August.
Sushi Sushi, a newcomer to the stable, is to be driven by Natalie Rasmussen. He has not raced since finishing second to Mustang Mach in the Melton Cup on August 3.
Sergeant Don, an acceptor in race 8 tonight is now trained by Doug McLachlan at Myross Bush. The trotter, who has not raced since January, won at Forbury Park and Wyndham when trained by part-owner Bruce Wallace.
Johnny Fox, a last-start winner at Winton on September 9 at his second start, is now in the Halswell stable of Steven McRae. The Western Terror 4yr-old, an acceptor at Addington tomorrow night, was previously trained at Winton by part-owner, Ian Wilson.
• Nash Rawiller will have his first race ride on Urban Groove in the group one Flight Stakes on Saturday, AAP reports.
The 3yr-old filly burst on to the scene last month with a five-length win at Kembla Grange in fast time. She backed it up with a strong Reginald Allen Quality win at Rosehill last Saturday, doing enough to convince trainer Gai Waterhouse to run her in the 1600m feature at her third start.
Jason Lee rode Urban Groove at Kembla and Tommy Berry was aboard for her stakes win.
Rawiller partnered Urban Groove in two barrier trials prior to her first race and knows the filly well. He has no doubt she is up to the giant task of making the successful leap to top company.
"She's coming off a very impressive last-start win in listed company," Rawiller said.
"She was plagued by an injury but she's come back in unbelievable order and she's the sort of filly that can take the next step and win at group one level."
