Racing: Jones gains drive

Mark Jones has the drive on Classiesistar at Addington tonight with a view to the Sires' Stakes series.

Classiesistar (race 3) has been driven in his two wins from as many starts by trainer Nigel McGrath, who sometimes engages an outside reinsman for major races. The Christian Cullen colt won at Addington in May and Methven on October 7.

There is a heat at Addington tonight but Classiesistar is in a 1-2win race. He is eligible for the final heat at Addington next Friday night.

The final is at Addington on November 13.

Supreme Mach, a last-start heat winner at Forbury Park, is among the rivals for Classiesistar tonight.

A $20,000 purchase at the 2011 premier yearling sale, Classiesistar is raced by Glenys Wolfe, of Melbourne. Her husband, John, raced Classic Line, winner of 12 races when trained by McGrath and later sold to the United States. Jones drove Classic Line in four wins.

Mighty Flying Mac, runner-up to Adore Me fresh up last week, rates highly in the Sires' Stakes heat tonight.
