Macho Comacho (race 2) has won his two starts from the Leeston stable operated by Chmiel and his wife, Glenys.
He was driven at Oamaru on September 16 by Mark Jones when Chmiel drove another member of the stable. Matthew Williamson drove the 4yr-old in a race for junior drivers at Addington in his other start.
"He [Macho Comacho] is racing out of his grade tonight but he has trained on good and should measure up," Chmiel said.
"I am just hoping he is not too keen from the mobile gate because his two races have been from a stand."
Chmiel said the main aim for Macho Comacho was the $36,000 Futurity Stakes at Addington on November 16.
• Ricky May, the accomplished reinsman, drove his namesake, Ricky to win a maiden race at Forbury Park last night.
Ricky was having his eighth start. He is raced by trainer Jamie Gameson, his wife, Natalie and the Rebel One syndicate.
The Gamesons bred Ricky, a 4yr-old by Live Or Die from My Petite Dream.
"We called him wee man in the paddock as a foal because he was small," Natalie Gameson said.
"That is Ricky May's nickname so when it came to giving the foal a name for racing, it was easy."
• Bob and Norma McMeeking made the trip from Kirwee to see Itz Nosurprisesthere win at her first start last night. The 3yr-old McArdle filly is the fourth winner from as many foals the McMeekings have bred from Itz Queen Of New York, a New York Motoring mare who did not win in seven starts. Supreme Mach, owned by Grant Dickey and Ed and Caroline Wardwell, won four of his seven starts as a 2yr-old. He led then trailed from barrier one and came along the passing lane to win by three quarters of a length in 1.58.6 mile rate for the 1700m (mobile).
