Racing: Rider On the Storm prevails

Rider On The Storm, who has been away from racing for seven months, was successful at the Rangiora trials yesterday.

Rider On The Storm beat his Robert Dunn-trained stablemates Johnny Bravo and Barmy Army. The time was a slow 3.25.7 for the 2600m, the last 800m in 58.5, the final 400m in 27.7.

Rider On The Storm won the Franklin Cup at his last start on November 27. He ran the 3200m in 4.02.2, a 2.01.7 mile rate beating Power Of Tara and Changeover.

Dunn also produced Better Than Money to win an 0-win 2000m (mobile) heat in a 2.00.6 mile rate.

The talented Aziza won the 1-win 2000m (mobile) in a 2.02.4 mile rate, the last 800 in 58.7, the final 400 in 28.9.

• All Tiger, who has not raced for seven months, is set to resume racing in the $20,000 Thames Cup at Alexandra Park tomorrow night.

All Tiger has not started since he was unplaced at Alexandra Park in November 2009.

He has had two workouts.

The Christian Cullen-Tiger Turner 5yr-old has recorded 12 wins and seven placings from 36 starts for $278,115 in stakes.

He will be the lone back marker on 30m in the Thames Cup and will be driven by trainer Geoff Small.

The Harness Jewels 3yr-old filly winner De Lovely has her first start since that group one success. She has drawn three in the 2-3win race over 2200m (mobile) tomorrow night.

• The Rising, who won four races at Forbury Park in 2006 among his five wins in New Zealand when trained by Cran Dalgety, has won his 12th race in America.

The In The Pocket-Moscardon 8yr-old recorded 1.50 at The Meadowlands.

The Rising recorded 11 wins in Australia after being sold there in 2006.

• Neeson, winner of the Hawksbury Guineas, is due to resume racing next month. Neeson won four of his six starts in the autumn. He won the listed Hawksbury Guineas by four and a-half lengths on May 1.
