Terror To Love won the race last year at his third start in a fresh campaign following a fresh up win at Addington and a seventh in the New Brighton Cup.
He is second up this time after an impressive win in the New Brighton Cup free-for-all on September 28.
Choise Achiever, the drive of Mark Jones, is a fresh runner in the field. The Hunter Cup winner at Melton in February, Choise Achiever has not raced since April. He won a trial at Rangiora on October 1. He is sixth in the New Zealand Cup rankings.
His trainer Anthony Butt also has Mah Sish and Stunin Cullen in the field tonight.
Butt has told stewards that Stunin Cullen will be driven with cover due to his tendency to race keenly in his two starts back from an enforced lay-off.

I Can Doosit is at $1.65 in final field betting on the Canterbury Park Trotting Cup. The backmarker on 30m, he mastered 25m to win the Banks Peninsula Trotting Cup fresh up on September 30. That was his 13th win in a row. He has not been beaten since the Lyell Creek Stakes, at Alexandra Park on December 9.
David Butt is back on Stig, whom he drove to win the Canterbury Park Trotting Cup three years ago. The 10yr-old finished a close second to Sovereignty when resuming at Addington last Friday night.
Butt has the drive on Raging Bull in race 1 with stable driver Dexter Dunn on Christen Me.
Butt drove Raging Bull to win his first two races in March.
Raging Bull won easily when resuming at Addington on September 28.
Christen Me has not raced since July 27 when he recorded his fourth straight win.
Christen Me has won a trial and workout at Rangiora in the past month.
