Whatwillbeewillbee continues fine run

South Otago trotter Whatwillbeewillbee continued his brilliant run of form, scoring a front-running victory at Ascot Park yesterday.

The 5yr-old made it three wins in his past four starts in yesterday's feature 2700m trot for trainer Brian Norman.

All three victories have come after leading throughout for driver Jonny Cox.

Oamaru owners Gordon and Joan Martin, and their daughter Jennie Wilson, have been through a range of exciting and nervous moments. Their squaregaiter bolted in by more than 12 lengths at Forbury Park, then held on to score by the barest of margins in his last start at Wyndham.

Yesterday the Majestic Son trotter prevailed by half a length over runner-up Rydgemont Milly.

Cox and Norman doubled up when Whata Razzle Dazzle won yesterday's fast-class pace.

Cox had the 6yr-old at the rear of the field before launching him around the outer at the 500m.

Whata Razzle Dazzle held on to win in a good finish over Ansett Flight and Nota Bene Denario.

Cox was involved in an even more thrilling finish earlier. The trainer-driver's charge, Folklore, looked to be in a nearly impossible spot when she was being carted back by a tiring leader before the home turn.

Cox managed to extricate the 4yr-old, who produced a stunning finish to win.

Southland pacer Pembrook Playboy cemented his status as his home province's leading 3yr-old when speeding to a graduation final win yesterday.

Trainer-driver Nathan Williamson had the pacer at the rear of the field after the start after drifting back from his wide barrier 8 draw.

Pembrook Playboy dashed around the field with a lap to go before reeling off a fast 26.9sec last 400m to hold out smart types Burnham Boy and See Ya Write.
