Heavyweights Southern and Dunedin battled to an 18-18 draw at Kettle Park in the last round of Dunedin premier rugby this afternoon.


Dunedin led 15-5 at the break but the Magpies dominated the second half. Both sides were safely through to the semifinals before the game.

They will be joined in the playoffs by Kaikorai, who beat Green Island 27-17 at Bishopscourt, and Harbour, who dispatched University 31-6 at Watson Park. Zingari- Richmond beat Alhambra-Union 31-18 at Montecillo.

The semifinals have been shifted to Hancock Park. Southern play Kaikorai and Harbour play Dunedin.
