In yet another close game at Forsyth Barr Stadium, the Highlanders have beaten the Jaguares 32-27 tonight.

The home team had to withstand a strong fightback from the Jaguares in the second half and could only score two Josh Ioane penalties in the second half.

It was very tight at the end but the Highlanders managed to hang on and the Jaguares indiscipline cost them in the end.

The Highlanders kicked the ball more than expected and the Jaguares were rugged and tough in the collision.

The Highlanders struck when it mattered in the first half. The side was trailing 13-12 with five minutes left but tries to Sio Tomkinson and Liam Coltman gave the side a 26-13 lead at the break.

Best for the Highlanders were hooker Coltman, lock Josh Dickson and first five-eighth Ioane.

The side is set to leave for South Africa tomorrow morning with doubts over the availability of forwards Liam Squire and Jackson Hemopo.
