Rugby: One-week ban for Tameifuna

Ben Tameifuna has been suspended for one week for his high tackle on Ryan Kankowski in the Chiefs' Super Rugby final win over the Sharks.

Chiefs prop Tameifuna pleaded guilty to making a dangerous tackle on the No8 in the 37-6 win at Waikato Stadium and will miss his Hastings Rugby and Sports' club's final this weekend.

The incident, early in the second half, was not seen by referee Steve Walsh or his assistants, according to a report from governing body Sanzar.
