Otago Boys' High School first XV made an impressive start to the top six of the premier school competition with a 53-0 win against Mt Aspiring College in Wanaka.
Waitaki Boys' High School enhanced their reputation as one of the most improved teams with a 18-15 win against King's High School first XV in Oamaru.
And in the other match, John McGlashan College beat Dunstan High School 29-8 in Alexandra.
In the bottom six, Otago Boys' 2nds beat South Otago High School 47-7, St Kevin's College beat King's 2nds 76-10 and Taieri College beat Kavanagh College 48-5.
