OBHS out muscle King's

Otago Boys' High School First XV leaned on a solid set piece to out muscle King's High School First XV 44-12 in the Highlanders regional semifinal at Littlebourne this afternoon.

The ground was in terrible condition and the home side kept the ball close to its pack and rumbled over for four first half tries to lead 29-5 at the break.

King's had scored through a charge down but had otherwise been unable to mount much pressure. They rallied in the second half and kept Otago Boys' scoreless until midway through the period when impressive flanker Taine Te Whata smashed his way over.

The win means Otago Boys' will head to Invercargill next weekend to play Southland Boys' High School in the regional final. The winner of that match will play the Crusaders champion for a spot in national finals.
