Nelson artist Josephine Cachemaille has created a scattered collection of tiny three-dimensional artworks that will be set up in hidden corners around the city during the Dunedin Fringe Festival.

Perched on park benches, tucked in corners beside shops, or lodged in the undergrowth in local parks, are tiny tents, caravans, huts and treehouses, many with deck-chairs, campfires and washing lines.

The project is called Home Away From Home, and Cachemaille says her tiny structures are all about wonder and surprise. ‘‘I want to give people the opportunity to make little discoveries as they wander around the city, and to discover art in really unexpected settings, rather than just in public performance spaces or art galleries.''
