Sometimes, when I was younger and had nothing more to worry about other than whether that boy I had a crush on would talk to me or whether I’d accidentally leave my knickers on under my togs at school swimming...again, I would also lie awake at night and agonise over the clothing I wanted, but couldn't have because they were so damn expensive!
The anxiety would lap at the edges of my consciousness as I’d drift off to sleep, because back then I clearly couldn't differentiate between a want and a need. I've always appreciated quality and was forced to get a job as a kitchen-hand during my teenage years to fund my wardrobe, which was a carefully curated mix of NOM*d, Zambesi, Helen Cherry and op-shop finds. Fortunately now that I'm a lot older and a little bit wiser, there’s still things I really really want, yet realise I do not actually need.
Above are my most ‘wanted’ items for November. Not necessarily to be worn all at once!
