Meat production is the category for this year's Lincoln University Foundation South Island Farmer of the Year competition.
Now in its 25th year, the award rewards farming excellence and those who contribute to developing New Zealand's land-based industries.
Co-ordinating judge Neil Gow said this year's competition was open to all South Island sheep, beef, bull beef and deer farmers who had more than 1500 stock units and derived 65% of their gross farm income store and/or finished livestock sales.
Entries close on August 29.
