About 700 year 10 and 11 pupils from eight Dunedin secondary schools attended the My Next Move Pathways Speedmeet to hear from 40 role models from 17 organisations.
Run by the My Next Move programme, which is part of Business South’s Pathways Hub, the event was first run in 2021 and was back by popular demand from the schools.
Careers represented included everything from law and architecture, to panel beating, midwifery, pharmacy and clinical engineering.
Education to Employment broker Haley McManus was overwhelmed by the "amazing support" from the business community and hoped to make it an annual event.
The My Next Move programme is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Development and Ministry of Education to provide events and services to strengthen connections between local employers and schools.
