CD review: Bjork

Icelandic pop adventurer Bjork might detail her relationship break-up in unflinchingly personal details, to the point various tracks come with a chronological reference (''Two months after ...''), yet she balances all the delicate dissection with a muscular, exploratory approach.

Aided by the dark electronica of collaborator Haxan Cloak and lush (but not cluttered) textural swells, probably provided by co-producer Arca (who played key roles on Kanye West's Yeezus, and FKA twigs' LP1,) Bjork has managed to merge her almost classical ambitions with an honesty that elevates her ninth studio effort to a cluttered top shelf.
