Nigel and Norma

New Zealand organist Nigel Potts, now at Christ and St Stephen's Episcopal Church in New York City, plays at 3pm on Sunday in the Dunedin Town Hall.

The programme includes two trumpet tunes from King Arthur, by Henry Purcell; Mein Jesu (BWV487), by J. S. Bach and Sonata Op.65, No 2 in C minor, by Felix Medelssohn. Door sales only.

Alchemical romance

There's something a little different on Saturday at 1pm in the Dunedin Public Art Gallery - a presentation on "Renaissance alchemy and the court of Rudolf II": by Jonathan Cweorth and Phil Philpot.

It includes a performance of alchemical fugues by the Rare Byrds ensemble.
